A great way to Start in Christianity with St Philip and St Paul with Wesley Church

What is Start?

Start! is a 6 week course where you can bring all your questions about the Christian faith. It assumes no prior knowledge at all.

Who is it for?

People wanting to find out about what Christians believe and perhaps embark on the Christian journey themselves and people new to PPW or existing members who would value the opportunity to revisit some of the basics of their faith This is a short course consisting of just 6 sessions: Week 1 – Life is for living Week 2 – Oh my God! Week 3 – Jesus who? Week 4 – What’s gone wrong? Week 5 – Dying to save Week 6 – Into the arms of love

What’s the format?

The course consists of 6 sessions lasting about 90 minutes each in an informal atmosphere. It is designed to stimulate discussion and thought, rather than simply to tell you things. Nobody, however, will be put on the spot or judged or otherwise made to feel uncomfortable. Each session consists of a series of “starters” which might involve watching a short DVD extract, engaging in a simple individual task or taking part in a group activity – each followed up with discussion. Who, where and when?

We aim to have 3 sessions before Whit back holiday week and 3 after. The venue and  timing of sessions will work around when people are free to meet up.

What people say about Start

I thought this course, designed for small informal groups, is great for thinking about what is really important in our lives; and if we want Jesus to be alongside us as we make that journey.

For me, ‘START’ answered a lot of questions I had. It also made me think more about the life we lead and the world we live in. I enjoyed it, met some new people and made some new friends!
